The people of Kul have felt their share of suffering. When the Soviet Union
collapsed in the early 1990s and Tajikistan found itself drifting alone and
largely obsolete, a bloody civil war broke out between groups trying to gain
control of the country. Tragically, Kul and other villages in the region
found themselves on the receiving end of the violence.

You Can Change Someone's Life for Just $1.65 A Day

ADRA is working in Kul right now to provide goats to families that are
financially vulnerable. That means giving them a way to earn extra income to
supplement what they're already earning through hard, honest work.
I'm thrilled to tell you that this goat project is a huge success! Families
that received goats just a few months ago have more than doubled the size of
their herds. With the additional income, families are realizing that they
can now afford to take their children to the doctor, pay for school and
school supplies, and buy nutritious foods.
Having a goat may not seem like much, but when a family of 18 people has to
survive on $20 or less every month, a goat can make a huge difference!
That's why we must help more families. I also know that when you find out
more about this project, you will feel the same desire to help as I do.
Every goat a family receives means that they are a little closer to having a
better life--to giving their children what they never had.
